The Wates team and our sub-contractors would like to thank you for your continued patience whilst we have been on site at Foldings Avenue.

Our site will close for the Christmas period on Friday 21 December, and will re-open in the new year on Wednesday 2 January.

Progress at Foldings Avenue has seen block 1 almost water tight with the exception of the external doors. Block 2 isn't too far behind, the timber frame is 75% complete with the balance due to be finished this week. The external works are also well advanced with 80% of the drainage installed and the first coat of tarmac laid to the road area. All in all we are on programme to have both blocks water tight before the Christmas break, which will enable us to commence the internal plastering work in January.

 

 

Over the past 6 weeks we have taken the site from foundation level up to finished floor level. This included the completion of brickwork and blockwork to finished floor level and the installation the beam and block floor.

We then layed the gas barrier and floor insulation which means we can now pour the slab concrete on Block 1 tomorrow and Block 2 next Tuesday. We will also be assembling the scaffolding on Blocks 1 and 2 in the near future. Shortly after the Timber Frame will be erected on Block 1 and on Block 2 a few weeks later.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves as Wates Living Space. We are a Building Contractor working in conjunction with Kirklees Council, and have been appointed to build 10 new homes on the vacant piece of land on Foldings Avenue, Scholes, Cleckheaton.

At Wates Living Space we take great pride in what we do and how we work with the local community whilst we are constructing our projects.  We will be in regular contact with you while we are building the homes, keeping you up to date with site activities which may affect you.

We will be carrying out further ground investigation works for a couple of hours on Monday 2^nd July, with the main construction works commencing on Monday 13th August, starting with making the site secure. 

The site is due for completion on 15 March 2013.  Please feel free to get in touch at any point during this period if you have any concerns about our activities, and we will be more than willing to discuss these further.  The site office shall be manned from 7.30 am until 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
